UNU, UNU-IHDP, DIVERSITAS launch e-survey on IPBES

UN University (UNU), UNU-IHDP, in collaboration with DIVERSITAS, and commissioned by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan, have launched an e-survey to solicit feedback on the establishment of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES).

The survey seeks input from natural and social scientists, as well as relevant stakeholders, regarding IPBES' guiding principles. It includes questions on IPBES governance, and how to organise the work of IPBES to deliver on the 4 IPBES functions (assessment, generation of knowledge, capacity building, and policy support).

The results of the survey will be presented as an information document to the Second Session of the IPBES Plenary meeting, to be held on 16-21 April 2012 in Panama.
