Map of Life - a new portal for biodiversity is now online

Map of Life (MOL) is a new interactive portal for global biodiversity research. It offers a variety of biodiversity data, such as species distribution maps, GBIF point data and checklists for all amphibians, mammals and bird species worldwide, as well as a number of species of other taxa (freshwater fishes, reptiles). Data coverage and functionality will be greatly enhanced over the next months.

GMBA signed an agreement to include their mountain maps and mountain life zones (currently available at www.mountainbiodiversity.org) in MOL, to allow specific queries for species occurrences in mountains within MoL by end of this year.
