Regional Technical Advisors for Biodiversity - UNDP-GEF

UNDP is presently looking for highly motivated and dynamic individuals with interest and experience in biodiversity to join their GEF (Global Environment Facility) Biodiversity team in Asia and the Pacific, based in Bangkok. The selected individuals will join a small team of specialists helping developing countries design and implement projects that strengthen capacity to mainstream biodiversity into national and local development processes, and which increase the sustainability of protected area systems.
Team members generally have academic backgrounds in biodiversity, natural resources or environmental policy, management or economics, and work experience in the development and management of biodiversity projects and programmes in developing countries.
Candidates must have excellent English oral and writing skills and be willing to live and travel in various parts of the developing world. The ability to speak one or more additional UN languages is an asset. Women and nationals of developing countries are particularly encouraged to apply.
