bio James N. Mills

James N. Mills, Ph.D. is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Wildlife Diseases. Jim retired in 2010 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) where he served for the last 16 years as Chief of the Medical Ecology Unit, Viral Special Pathogens Branch, National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases. Jim’s research interests include the ecology, natural history, host relationships and coevolution of zoonotic viruses (especially the small-mammal-borne hemorrhagic fever viruses), as they relate to human health. Recent research has addressed the real and potential effects of climate change and biodiversity loss on zoonotic disease.
