A joint workshop by DIVERSITAS and the German Network Forum for biodiversity research (NEFO), aimed at furthering the scientific concepts behind (ecological) tipping points, and identifying ways to detect and mitigate tipping points.

The 2 day workshop will focus on four topics

1. Tipping points, catastrophic thresholds, regime shifts and ecosystem resilience: conceptual considerations

2. Detection of tipping points / indicators

3. Mitigation of tipping points / management implications

4. Relevance for IPBES.

 

Key speakers for the workshop include Kurt Jax, UFZ, and Paul Leadley, Universite Paris Sud.
