UNEP
The United Nations Environment Programme, UNEP represents an important policy partner for DIVERSITAS. Aside from contributing to the work of Conventions (CBD, UNFCCC) which are under the auspices of UNEP, DIVERSITAS collaborates or has collaborated with UNEP on the following topics:
IPBES, Intergovernmental science-policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services
DIVERSITAS has collaborated with UNEP, Division of Environmental Policy Implementation, in the context of the three intergovernmental and multistakeholder consultations on IPBES, and is actively contributing to the preparation of the IPBES first plenary meeting in 2011.
The Global Biodiversity Outlook 3, GBO-3
DIVERSITAS, in partnership with UNEP-WCMC, was contracted by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) to prepare a synthesis of scenarios of biodiversity change over the 21st century as part of the GBO-3. More
Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and the Aichi Biodiversity Targets
DIVERSITAS is collaborating with UNEP WCMC on designing indicators against the 20 targets for 2020.
-Ecosystem service indicators: linking the dynamics of ecosystems to human well-being, 19-21 August 2010; workshop funded by UNEP-DEPI, Grinda, Sweden (leader: bioSUSTAINABILITY).
-Side event at CBD-COP10 (21 Oct 2010, DIVERSITAS-bioSUSTAINABILITY, UNEP-WCMC): Toward a set of targets for 2020.
-Contribution to the work of the Ad Hoc Technical Expert Group (AHTEG) of the CBD on indicators for the Strategic Plan 2011-2020.
Global Environment Outlook (GEO)
Scientists active in DIVERSITAS are involved in various capacities in the preparation of GEO 5. GEO is the assessment mechanism of UNEP for reporting on the state, trends and outlooks of the environment
